Red Roof Inn offering free lodging for HCW/ first responders
https://www.redroof.com/deals/national-deals/room-in-your-heart I thought this information could help those who want to use protective distancing from their loved ones.
stay safe! ❤️
Room in Your Heart: Opening Doors to First Responders
Red Roof®, the leader in upscale economy lodging, is giving back to our country’s first responders—dedicated nurses, doctors, firefighters, police and emergency medical providers—who are fighting tirelessly to combat COVID-19. Many of these essential workers on the frontlines need a place to self-quarantine away from their homes and families to protect their loved ones.
From April 3 – May 31, Red Roof is donating a limited number of available rooms to these brave heroes, giving them a place to sleep and stay in between shifts at participating locations across the country.
Many Red Roof locations are exterior corridor hotels where separate hotel room doors open to the outside of the building instead of an interior hallway. After check-in, guests can drive to their room instead of walking through the building, reducing contact with interior touchpoints. Rooms have free Wi-Fi, flat-screen TVs, a workstation and a communication package that includes free local and long-distance calls as well as free in-room coffee (in most rooms). One well-behaved domestic pet—cat or dog—is always welcome to stay at no charge.
Call a participating hotel directly to book your stay.
*Each guest must provide valid medical, firefighter, or police identification. Offer does not apply to guests staying under a current government contract and all rooms are subject to availability. Pet accommodations policy may vary at some Home Towne Studios by Red Roof locations.

Tristan Wade prevails at Palm Beach Kennel Club
The World Series of Poker Circuit started last week and it finally came to an end, with Tristan Wade being the last man standing in a tournament that attracted several poker professionals. This time, the series stopped at the Palm Beach Kennel Club in Florida, with a total of 12 gold rings up for grabs and the flagship tournament was the $1675 Main event. A total of 303 players participated and among those who found it worthwhile to sit down at the tables were former World Series of Poker winners. Jamie Gold remains the best paid world champion, with his victory in the main event resulting in a paycheck of $12 million. By comparison, Greg Raymer received a smaller amount for achieving the same performance and his career was littered with various scandals, including one that saw him arrested for a short period of time. Unfortunately for them, they didn't make the final table where Tristan Wade brought a healthy stack and started as a favorite over several poker pros. Zo Karim, David Diaz and Chance Kornuth were all present, but except for David who made the heads-up, the other two had to settle for an amount of less than $30,000. By comparison, Tristan was the only player to win a six digit prize and by prevailing in this tournament, he also secured a seat in the season-ending National Championship. This is how the final table looked like and the corresponding amounts awarded to each finalist: 1 Tristan Wade Boynton Beach, FL $106,8062 David Diaz Memphis, TN $66,0393 Thomas Midena Brooklyn, MI $47,9634 Kristopher Bradshaw Scottville, MI $35,4285 Zo Karim Orlando, FL $26,5976 Will Souther Biloxi, MS $20,2847 Chance Kornuth Las Vegas, NV $15,7128 Benjamin Zetina West Palm Beach, FL $12,3539 Philip Consolo Miami Shores, FL $9,858 Mike Dentale and Nathan Bjerno were credited with a decent chance at making the final table, but Mike had to settle for the 31st place, while Nathan came close but didn't make it. Action will shift to Europe for the time being, with the European Poker Tour to keep live poker players wired for the next couple of months. Meanwhile, over the Internet it is business as usual and those who have an account with 888 Poker, know that tournaments run on a weekly basis while there is no shortage of players at cash tables.

I would say her husband cannot be happy.” (Jun 2012, Extra interview, reported by http://www.cnn.com/2016/10/12/politics/trump-on-statutory-rape/index.html?sr=fbCNN101416trump-on-statutory-rape0300AMStoryLink&linkId=29872332)

- Trump doubled down on birther theories. “His grandmother in Kenya said he was born in Kenya and she was there and witnessed the birth.” Obama made his “long-form” birth certificate public later in April. (7 Apr 2011, The Today Show, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Blckpwk1voQ)

- “I want to see @BarackObama’s college records to see how he listed his place of birth. (30 May 2012, Twitter, https://twitter.com/realDonaldTrump/status/207875027008368640?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw)
- “An ‘extremely credible source’ has called my office and told me that @BarackObama’s birth certificate is a fraud.” (6 Aug 2012, Twitter, https://twitter.com/realdonaldtrump/status/232572505238433794)
- Continuing to push birther theories, this time Trump suggested that the Obama administration had had a hand in the death of a government official. “How amazing, the State Health Director who verified copies of Obama’s “birth certificate” died in a plane crash today. All others lived.” (12 Dec 2013, Twitter, https://twitter.com/realdonaldtrump/status/411247268763676673)
- The next year, he continued with birther theories: “Attention all hackers: You are hacking everything else so please hack Obama’s college records (destroyed?) and check ‘place of birth.’” (6 Sep 2014, Twitter, https://twitter.com/realdonaldtrump/status/508194635270062080)
- Trump claimed that Hillary’s 2008 primary campaign started the birther movement, although they did not. (16 Sep 2016, campaign rally, http://www.snopes.com/hillary-clinton-started-birther-movement/)

- Trump buys into the idea that “it’s cold in some places at some times” disproves global warming, calling it a “GLOBAL WARMING HOAX.” (25 Jan 2014, Twitter, https://twitter.com/realdonaldtrump/status/427226424987385856)
- Trump sued journalist Tim O’Brien for $5 billion on charges of libel for claiming Trump’s net worth was only somewhere around $200 million. The suit was thrown out of court. (2009, legal proceedings, reported at http://www.theatlantic.com/politics/archive/2016/10/donald-trump-scandals/474726/)
- From the 1980s to 2016, Trump has been accused many times of not paying or otherwise defrauding workers and contractors employed by his businesses, and even his own lawyers. Although some do not have proof and others have settled out of court, others have won monetary judgements from Trump in legal proceedings. (Reported Jun 2016 at http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/elections/2016/06/09/donald-trump-unpaid-bills-republican-president-laswuits/85297274/)
- Trump has used campaign money to buy his own books, essentially funneling donated money back to himself. (10 May 2016, campaign finance, reported in http://www.thedailybeast.com/articles/2016/08/24/donald-trump-used-campaign-donations-to-buy-55-000-of-his-own-book.html)

- Trump’s last recorded donation to his foundation was in 2008, although it has on occasion given money that appeared to be from Trump, as in the Extra TV “Trump Pays Your Bills!” contest. (2009, Extra TV, reported at https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/how-donald-trump-retooled-his-charity-to-spend-other-peoples-money/2016/09/10/da8cce64-75df-11e6-8149-b8d05321db62_story.html)

- Breaking with 40 years of presidential tradition, Trump has refused to release his tax returns. He says that he is not allowed to do so under audit, but IRS commissioner John Koskinen has stated that “if you’re being audited, and you want to do something else, share that information with your returns, you can do that.” (1 Jan 2016, C-SPAN interview with IRS commissioner, http://www.politico.com/story/2016/02/donald-trump-irs-audit-experts-219889)
- (More than 10 years old) Trump “would never buy Ivana any decent jewels or pictures. Why give her negotiable assets?” (Sep 1990, Vanity Fair, http://www.vanityfair.com/magazine/2015/07/donald-ivana-trump-divorce-prenup-marie-brenner)
- (More than 10 years old) 46-year-old Donald Trump looked at a group of young girls and said of one of them “I am going to be dating her in 10 years. Can you believe it?” (December 1992, Entertainment Tonight Christmas feature, reported http://www.cbsnews.com/news/more-unearthed-footage-trump-says-of-10-year-old-i-am-going-to-be-dating-her-in-10-years/)
- (More than 10 years old) Trump describes the “basically three types of women”: good women who refuse to sign prenups, who men should avoid; gold-diggers who refuse to sign prenups; and gold-diggers who will sign prenups to make a quick hit of money. (Oct 1997, The Art of the Comeback)
- (More than 10 years old) In an ad campaign meant to stop a competing casino from being built, Trump-supported ads claimed “The St. Regis Mohawk Indian record of criminal activity is well documented.” (Feb 2000, New York newspaper ads, reported http://www.nytimes.com/2015/08/01/nyregion/trumps-instinct-for-racially-charged-rhetoric-before-his-presidential-bid.html?mtrref=undefined)
- (More than 10 years old) Trump said in an interview that he has seen Paris Hilton’s sex tape and thought that she was hot when he first met her – at age 12. - (More than 10 years old) “I’ve gotta use some tic tacs, just in case I start kissing her. You know I’m automatically attracted to beautiful – I just start kissing them. It’s like a magnet. Just kiss. I don’t even wait and when you’re a star they let you do that. You can do anything. Grab them by the pussy. You can do anything.” He also talked about hitting on married women, but it’s the sexual assault part that’s probably more concerning. (Oct 2005, backstage of Days of Our Lives with Access Hollywood, available pretty much anywhere but here’s the original reporting: https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/trump-recorded-having-extremely-lewd-conversation-about-women-in-2005/2016/10/07/3b9ce776-8cb4-11e6-bf8a-3d26847eeed4_story.html?postshare=3561475870579757&tid=ss_tw)
- (More than 10 years old) Trump talked about why he does not change diapers: “There’s a lot of women out there that demand the husband act like the wife,” but Trump is not like that. (Nov 2005, Opie and Anthony Show, reported at http://fortune.com/2016/04/24/trump-act-like-wife/)
- (More than 10 years old) “I’ll tell you the funniest is that I’ll go backstage before a show and everyone’s getting dressed. No men are anywhere and I’m allowed to go in, because I’m the owner of the pageant and therefore I’m inspecting it… And you see these incredible looking women, and so I sort of get away with things like that.” (Nov 2005, Howard Stern interview, reported at http://fortune.com/2016/10/09/trump-naked-beauty-pageant/)
- (More than 10 years old) Trump has been repeatedly fined for breaking rules related to casino operations from 1990 to 2000. (http://www.theatlantic.com/politics/archive/2016/10/donald-trump-scandals/474726/)
- (More than 10 years old) In 1986, Trump was fined for antitrust violations. (http://www.theatlantic.com/politics/archive/2016/10/donald-trump-scandals/474726/)
- (Endorsement) North Korean dictator endorses Donald Trump as a “wise politician.” (31 May 2016, DPRK Today [NK propaganda website], http://www.reuters.com/article/us-northkorea-usa-trump-idUSKCN0YN35S)
- (Endorsement) KKK leader endorses Trump. (28 Apr 2016, WWBT [Virginia news], http://www.snopes.com/2016/05/02/klan-leader-endorses-trump/)
- (Endorsement) Chinese Communist Party media outlets excited by Trump’s willingness to break US-Asian alliances, potentially giving China more power. (2016, various, reported 18 Apr 2016, http://www.thedailybeast.com/articles/2016/04/19/china-endorses-donald-trump.html)
- (Endorsement) Serbian nationalist Vojislav Seselj, wanted for war crimes, endorses Trump. (3 Jan 2016, Twitter, http://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2016-01-05/balkan-war-crimes-suspect-calls-for-serbs-in-u-s-to-back-trump) ____________ II. UNPROVEN, CONTESTED, or SUBJECT TO INTERPRETATION ____________
- During the second presidential debate, when asked about his recently-released “grab them by the pussy” remarks on a 2005 tape, Trump claimed that Bill Clinton was worse than he was, saying that his words were just “locker room talk” and Bill Clinton was an actual sexual predator. He had four women with him, including three who had accusations (some credible, some not) against Bill Clinton, and one whose rapist was represented in court by Hillary Clinton when she worked as a lawyer. Trump claimed that he had never acted on his “locker room talk” and that ISIS posed a greater threat to the country than his words. (9 Oct 2016, presidential debate, http://www.npr.org/2016/10/09/497056227/fact-check-clinton-and-trump-debate-for-the-second-time)
- Sexual allegations have piled up, including kissing without consent, groping, and sexual assault, in the wake of the 2005 “grab them by the pussy” video and Trump’s denial at the second debate that he had ever acted upon his words. At least eight women have come forward. Their stories are, after all this time, out of the hands of the courts and no audiovisual recordings can prove anything one way or the other; accusations come from as early as the 1970s and as late as 2005. (See article http://www.theatlantic.com/politics/archive/2016/10/donald-trump-scandals/474726/)
- Former teen pageant contestants, in the wake of the Howard Stern interview where Trump said he liked to walk in on pageant contestants, allege he did exactly that in the late 90s. Again, too much time has passed to prove fully one way or the other. (See article https://www.buzzfeed.com/jtes/a-fifth-teen-beauty-queen-says-trump-visited-dressing-room?utm_term=.cnom0nNV1#.nyRNM5YjZ)
- Rape allegations include recanted testimony from ex-wife Ivana Trump, who alleged marital rape during their divorce (see article http://www.theatlantic.com/politics/archive/2016/10/donald-trump-scandals/474726/), and a civil lawsuit from a Jane Doe set to be heard in December 2016 who says Trump raped her when she was 13 at a party held in 1994; Trump categorically denies the charges and there is reason to believe this specific lawsuit is spurious (see article http://www.vox.com/2016/10/12/13265206/trump-accusations-sexual-assault/in/13029661).
- Trump Model Management was dropped from a class-action lawsuit in 2013 when a judge narrowed the defendants. The lawsuit alleged that modeling agencies charged foreign models disproportionate fees for rent and other expenses, and did not obtain correct work visas for the models. An individual lawsuit on the same subjects was dismissed March 2016. (See article 30 Aug 2016, http://www.motherjones.com/politics/2016/08/donald-trump-model-management-illegal-immigration)
- Trump has been repeatedly linked to the New York mafia, although he’s never been convicted of anything and it’s possible that anyone doing high-profile business in New York will have been linked to the mob once or twice. Trump may have been particularly close with Robert LiButti, an associate of John Gotti. (See article http://www.theatlantic.com/politics/archive/2016/10/donald-trump-scandals/474726/)
- Trump University, an online real-estate school which ran from 2005-2010, is under litigation by the state of New York and by two class-action lawsuits in California for defrauding its students by as much as $35,000 each to “learn from Donald Trump’s handpicked instructors,” although Trump had little to do with the curriculum or teachers. The school also changed its name to “Trump Entrepreneur Initiative” because it lacked a New York educational license. (See article http://www.theatlantic.com/politics/archive/2016/10/donald-trump-scandals/474726/)
- Trump companies have gone bankrupt four times for huge amounts of money, although that could be seen as just the price of doing business. (1991, 1992, 2004, 2009; see article http://www.theatlantic.com/politics/archive/2016/10/donald-trump-scandals/474726/)
- Trump has settled suits with buyers of several different “condo hotel” projects that went under in the 2000s. (See article http://www.theatlantic.com/politics/archive/2016/10/donald-trump-scandals/474726/)
- It is likely that Trump has broken the Cuban embargo on business dealings, although that’s never gone through the court system. (See article http://www.theatlantic.com/politics/archive/2016/10/donald-trump-scandals/474726/)
- Trump wrote a check for $100,000 for Louisiana flood relief efforts to the Greenwell Springs Baptist Church. The interim pastor at that church is Tony Perkins, president of the Family Research Council. Some have interpreted this donation as a contribution to the FRC’s anti-homosexuality agenda. It is unclear whether this donation was meant to make such a statement, or if the church has received the money. (24 Aug 2016, see article http://www.snopes.com/donald-trump-donated-100k-la/)
- Three unnamed staffers of the TV show Celebrity Apprentice say that Trump refered to actress Marlee Matlin, who is deaf, as “retarded” while she appeared on the show. Because of the unnamed accusers and lack of audiovisual recording, there is no way to prove or disprove this accusation. (2011, see article http://www.snopes.com/2016/10/14/donald-trump-called-marlee-matlin-retarded/)
- Trump implied that veterans with PTSD aren’t “strong” and “can’t handle it.” His remarks were not taken well at all, to say the least, but to be fair the general thrust of his statement was for supporting veteran’s mental health services. (3 Oct 2016, Retired American Warriors PAC, http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/onpolitics/2016/10/03/trump-ptsd-comments/91509626/)
- A series of remarks that included exhorting the terminally ill to “hang out ‘til November 8th. Get out and vote” which drew public ire could be simple hyperbole in the context of urging supporters to get out the vote. (5 Oct 2016, campaign rally, see http://www.snopes.com/2016/10/07/donald-trump-vies-for-the-terminally-ill-vote/)
- Three leaked pages from Trump’s 1995 tax filings show a $916 million loss that could have allowed Trump to legally pay $0 in federal income tax for 18 years. Although this lack of payment would be legal, some see it as unethical; as a private citizen, Trump does not have an ethical fiduciary duty to shareholders to pay as little tax as possible. The Trump campaign has not denied the lack of income tax payment, and the fact that Trump has not released his tax returns has people wondering what the Trump camp sees as so damaging they cannot be released. (See article http://www.nytimes.com/2016/10/02/us/politics/donald-trump-taxes.html)
- At the first presidential debate, Trump claimed that New York’s stop-and-frisk was not unconstitutional. Although not inherently unconstitutional, stop-and-frisk as the NYPD practiced it was ruled unconstitutional in 2013. (See article http://www.nytimes.com/2013/11/23/nyregion/appeals-court-refuses-for-now-to-overturn-stop-and-frisk-ruling.html)
- At the second presidential debate, Trump said that he would appoint a special prosecutor with the goal of jailing Clinton if he became President because of her email practices when she was Secretary of State. She had already been investigated and the FBI director had testified that she did not lie to federal agents. He stated that her email practices were “extremely careless” but not prosecutable. (See article http://www.npr.org/2016/10/09/497056227/fact-check-clinton-and-trump-debate-for-the-second-time)
- (More than 10 years old) The Department of Justice sued Trump and his father for housing discrimination against African-Americans in 1973-1975. The Trumps settled without admitting guilt. (See article http://www.theatlantic.com/politics/archive/2016/10/donald-trump-scandals/474726/)
- (More than 10 years old) From 1982-1986, Trump engaged in a campaign of tenant intimidation to get the people living in a rent-controlled building he had recently bought to move out so he could rebuild. He eventually settled with the tenants and agreed to the rent controls. The building still stands today. (See article http://money.cnn.com/2016/03/28/news/trump-apartment-tenants/)
- (More than 10 years old) In 1980, the demolition of the building at the site that would become Trump Tower was accomplished with 200 undocumented immigrants paid substandard wages. Trump was found guilty in 1991, appealed, and settled with partial victories for both sides in 1999. (See article http://www.theatlantic.com/politics/archive/2016/10/donald-trump-scandals/474726/)
- (More than 10 years ago) A review of IRS records found that the Trump Foundation donated only $1000 to any 9/11-related cause, and that single donation went to a Scientology program that supposedly “detoxified” 9/11 workers. Trump has claimed he donated “close to half a million dollars”; it is possible that donations were made from Trump’s personal funds rather than the foundation. (See article http://www.nydailynews.com/news/politics/trump-charity-1-000-9-11causes-report-article-1.2423205) ____________ III. DISPROVEN AND JUST PLAIN FALSE ____________
- A picture that purports to show the Trump family in KKK robes is photoshopped. (http://www.snopes.com/donald-trumps-parents-kkk/)
- An article that claimed Trump’s ex-wives said he pressured them to get abortions is from a deliberately fake news website. (http://www.snopes.com/donald-trump-ex-wives-abortions/)
- A claim that Trump has made donations to the North American Man/Boy Love Association (NAMBLA) is a prank designed to throw into question what is in Trump’s unreleased tax returns (http://www.snopes.com/trump-did-not-donate-to-nambla/)
- Trump did not leak classified information after his first intelligence briefing as a presidential candidate. (http://www.snopes.com/trump-leaks-classified-info/)
- Story that Trump apologized to Serbian nationalists for US bombing of Serbia in 1990s, done in order to prevent genocide, is probably a hoax. (14 Oct 2016, Nedeljnik [Serbian magazine], http://www.salon.com/2016/10/14/donald-trump-didnt-apologize-for-bill-clintons-serbian-intervention-after-all/)
I may have to edit this if formatting is wonky. I know it isn't totally comprehensive and may not be up to date on the last few days. I tried to be scrupulously fair although obviously I hate the dude.
